How to be a Green Office Space Partner

Be a sustainable economy.  There are even greater savings in time, travel, and resources if you are doing business and sharing resources with others that office in the same building. Money that is spent or received from locally based businesses recirculate in the local economy more times and longer which creates a stronger Austin economy.  Having a stronger local economy benefits everyone living and doing business in Austin. PRE Management follows this mantra by only using companies that are based out of Austin for their vendor services.

Other “musts” for tenant’s to participate in being a Green Office Space partner:

Turn off all of the lights and equipment such as printers and copiers when leaving the office.  There is no reason for anything to continue to run except computer servers while no one is working at the office.

Individuals in the office who resists this program should be reminded by others who are changing their habits to join them.

Ridesharing is a great way to save money, your car, and the environment. There are several ways this can be done. Pick up and leave at scheduled times; exceptions can always be made or ridesharing may not be practiced for particular reasons on certain days. You can alternate who is driving on a daily or weekly basis or one person may not drive at all and just pay the other person for taking them to and from work.

Resource sharing can extend to other items such as running errands or purchasing something in bulk.  A single person at the office (building) can take care of the errands that several people need to run, thereby creating efficiencies and freeing up time for everyone. Weekly or monthly errands can be combined this way.
